from the chain store girl.
A wedding picture
she wanted to send
to her mum.
I was pointing at her.
And the sublime portrait
she threw on the counter.
Dressed up in a feather boa,
pictured from a magazine,
I was out to teach poetry.
Putting Judy
quaintly off her stride
when asking her
(oh, my god, a lesson you should have learned)
if she was married
to David Sylvian
while I knew
It was You.

Un autre arrivera
Pour nous dire des nouvelles
D’un qui reviendra dans un an ou deux
Puisqu’il est heureux on s’endormira
